My utmost sympathy to Richard's family. May his beautiful memories last in your hearts forever. A unique gentleman from the moment you meet him along with learning about his talents that were never ending along with his love of life. Richard never complained about anything. he took life in stride. Hearing his piano music from his apartment told the joy he held for The Lord and for his church. I miss that now. His excitement of his family gatherings and his trips back to CA told of his love of every single one of you. His stories about his family were told with glee! The one thing I will never forget is the night in October 2012 when home alone I had a stroke. When the ambulance crew wheeled the stretcher past his door he came out and told me he was driving to the hospital as he didn't want me to be alone. He was not a night driver yet he came and stayed until my daughter arrived. I will never forget that. Your lives were blessed to have such a dignified man for a Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. The work you have put into this page and shared with those of us who knew him is outstanding and proclaims the Love you have for him. GOD Bless YOU all and may we all welcome Richard with open arms when we see him again. He was one great man who touched so many hearts in his lifetime.

I remember singing with Richard with the Hope Singers at Hope Chapel. I loved Richard's smile and his warm hugs. He was such a humble soul and loved life and people. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend!

Richard taught my family so much about how to love. He was a mentor, a friend, and a beautiful human being. I will miss him a lot, but will treasure every moment I got to enjoy his warmth and friendliness.

I can attest to the description here of this wonderful man. Richard was indeed one to unconditionally love everybody who happened to cross his path during his life's journey. I met him at Hope Chapel, Hermosa Beach, CA when we were both in the Hope Chapel Singers. Our lives reconnected years later at Christ Chapel, Long Beach, CA. My life has been positively touched by having had the privilege to have known Richard. He's just gone on ahead of those of us who are believers. We will again reconnect in the sweet by and by on the other side. Until then, Richard, save a place for me. You are truly missed.

Remembering my "Big Brother" Dick with love and joy. We 1st met him at St. Joseph's when he and Pat were Rob's 1st grade CCD teacher. He took me to my 1st Congress in 1972 and I have gone ever since. He has always been part of our family and we will never forget him. Love & Prayers, Tony & Alexis

Whenever we saw Richard, he always told us how happy and proud he was to have our son (married to granddaughter Jolene) as part of his family. We are happy and proud that Eric is part of Richard's. We are lucky to have been touched by his warm, gracious, and loving soul.

I met Dick in the early 90's at Christ Chapel. He was jovial, charismatic & funny. I was sure to laugh when I was in his presence. Glad I met him on this side of Heaven, I'll see him in the morning for more laughter and good times!

My connection with Dick - as I knew him - was very fleeting. I met him at the Christ Chapel church, in Long Beach. What struck me about him, even the very first time we met, was his laughing eyes, and sweet smile. This is what I will remember. My heart goes out to his family, and friends.

I believe a man’s contribution to humanity may be felt in the love that resides in his family. If that is so, Richard did well and we are fortunate to be part of his family.
